I'm pretty sure Stanford won't install artificial turn in the near future. We already dodged that bullet when the stadium and its expensive drainage system was funded. If our big donors didn't want it then and were willing to pony up big bucks to head it off then I doubt two muddy fields (School near Oakland, Oregon) in November will change their minds.
Despite the grumbling I suspect we will see new grass seed variants and tarp systems applied but nothing more.
