Stanford grad Ted Danson?  Why Ed Moose Washington Square Bar and Grill

Ted was in my class.  He didn't graduate -- left sometime after Christmas break freshman year.  CI might know more.

Apparently, Danson asked out a girl named Beth who worked in the Stanford cafeteria.  She was an actress, and essentially said "love to hang out, I'm going to an audition."  Ted accompanied her, the only way to stay in the audition room was to actually audition.  He was hooked, said it was not as good as basketball, but he got laughs.  He backed up his station wagon to the theater, and stayed.  That was that.
