We may have to wait a bit longer to be vaccinated. Novartis' CEO, in an interview, stated that the realistic timeline is 18 months to 2 years for a COVID-19 vaccine, not the more optimistic scenario touted by some that we may see something by the end of this year.

I spent some time yesterday looking for any news on challenge trials. Unless they're being don't surreptitiously in China or something, they're not happening.
Not doing challenge trials is going to go down as one of the worst decisions of the 21st century. This could kill hundreds of thousands of people unnecessarily by delaying a vaccine. The Oxford trial people are already saying that the virus may not be widespread enough for them to get good results from their trial.
