In my family we talked about their options and the possible outcomes. Imagine someone had COVID19 and then several of the family elders died shortly after the wedding. It would be a terrible thing to have your wedding linked to a set of horrific family illnesses or deaths.
So ignore the chances of government mandates on groups altering plans, or the photos with people wearing masks and trying to socially distance, or the challenges of travel during the pandemic. The potential for a beloved elder getting sick was probably reason enough to postpone the celebratory ceremony for a different (safer) time.
