Based on this article, it sounds to me like the Dad was ready to push Stanford, but the son wanted to take a look at USC. Of course, it's the Dad's quote to which I'm referring, so maybe it should be taken with a grain of salt.Â
Some interesting stuff though. It sounds like Hawkins might open up his recruitment a bit wider now, even if USC has pulled his offer. But given the situation of Jontrey Tillman last year, and of a number of other prospects over the years who struggled with admissions despite impressive GPAs, it probably makes sense to proceed with caution.Â
As long as Hawkins is with us on NSD, all is good.
