Very curious how you uploaded a VHS tape onto youtube--did it involve playing it back on a smart tv?

My computer has a TV tuner card so I just plugged the VCR straight into my PC and uploaded the resulting video.

If you don't have a TV tuner or video capture card, nowadays you can buy one that plugs into a USB port.  Just search for "VHS converter".  Some are as cheap as $10, but caveat emptor.
