One thing I have carried from this 1993 game has been cynicism about the coaches' poll.
This game ended late - after 11 PM local time, as I remember getting home (I live in the East Bay) around 1 AM.
This was a game of great relevance, as Colorado had an excellent record from 1992, and was actually considered a contender for a national championship in 1993. Hence, this was a big win for Stanford. I was eagerly awaiting the new rankings, which came out Sunday evening. I was stunned when Stanford actually dropped in the standings, whereas Colorado stayed the same. This meant one thing - that the voters (nominally the head coaches, but in reality the task is given to their assistants) didn't even bother to check the results of the game before submitting their ballots.
