Teejers (TJ Martin) present and accounted for - entertaining game (but not as good as the Ws at ND in '90 and '92).
And I agree 100% with the love for Strenstrom's toughness. The only QB who took a worse beating at Stanford was the 5 star kid from Los Gatos during the Dark Times. Stanford was lucky the parents didn't sue the university for child endangerment. That was just brutal. But Stenny, with better coaching and some more weapons, would manage to produce even while taking a beating. Pretty sure Stenny played against the Desert Swarm defense of the Arizona Wildcats (but I could be mistaken on that). And talk about ugly . . . the worst Stanford offensive performance I ever witness came against Arizona at the Old Lady. It was a pathetic showing by the Cardinal; and sheer dominance by the Wildcats D.
Not sure if this is the game you are talking about, but I remember one against Arizona in that era where we had a 4th and 1 somewhere around midfield. We called time out and the offense went to the sidelines to discuss what we should do. The Arizona defense got tired of waiting and started motioning for us to get back on the field and play. We came back out, went for the first down and of course got stuffed. That was a real shaking your head moment.
