I thoroughly enjoyed Husak's commentary. I felt he did a good job explaining the offensive schemes. He clearly has a deep understanding of the game. I know he felt that Shaw should run many more crossing routes, and that Shaw needed to do a better job of breaking the playcalling patterns that allow defensive coordinators to predict our plays. Husak was also willing to criticize the officiating when it was warranted. He was a fair, critical, knowledgeable, independent voice.
I'm not outraged, but this counts as a loss to me.
Big loss. If this is a "he's too critical so he should go" directive, then the AD and the football program is even more chicken$hit than I thought. Let's hope that's not the case.
I truly doubt that was the case. Looking at his job titles, he’s got bigger fish to fry. Add this bizarre season and maybe he just felt this wasn’t a good year to do this. Maybe he doesn’t want to travel expose himself to more Covid risk etc.
There simply is no reason to believe this came down from on high. If anyone has any evidence to the contrary, let’s here it.
Hear, hear!
Life is too short to waste on crap football.
