I mean, I get that he can be prickly, but that would take it to a whole new level of thin-skinnedness, one that you and teejers seem to have assumed in.
Shaw is busy doing other things during the broadcast, and generally doesn't get to see it. He doesn't like to get challenged directly (I mean, who does), but he is not keeping track of what is said or written and compiling some sort of enemies list. He and Husak had a cordial relationship, and I have seen no evidence that Shaw tried to get Husak pushed out. If you have any, please share.

IF Husak was pushed out for that reason (and the "that's my story and I'm sticking with it" blast was attempt at some humor in uncertain situation), then does it matter if it was Shaw or Muir or anyone in the Athletic Department in particular? Regardless, it's flat lame, think-skinned, and chicken$hittish, no matter the source of the complaining.
And ftr, it would not surprise me if Husak's candor ruffled feathers and was the driving force of his removal; and it would not surprise me if Shaw were the source (or some other coach or staff person fronting for Shaw when complaining to the AD). It also would not surprise me if it were someone other than Shaw - maybe a big donor who only wants positive things said about the program; maybe vociferous Shaw defenders who ran to the AD and complained about unfair treatment of Shaw. Who knows?
