His contract is up after this season. With COVID19 the interim coach would almost have to be on roster now anyway. I think they will just let him know this is his last season. That way the players and existing staff have a coach, but the university can start the process of looking for a new coach.
Losing to Indiana does not have an equivalent in the Pac-12, but it is simply unacceptable. And to say "Indiana is good this year" only makes it worse since to a Michigan alum there is no player on the Indiana roster that would not have taken a roster spot on Michigan if given a chance. So either Indiana got recruits that should have gone to Michigan if JH was doing his job or Indiana developed players better than JH. Either way, losing to Indiana means there is something very wrong in Ann Arbor.
