This was not unexpected news that Fudd was joining the Huskies.
UConn will be set in the backcourt for the next couple years with Bueckers and Fudd, which promises to be their best 1-2 combo at the one and two since Bird and Taurasi overlapped for a couple seasons in the early 2000s. Plus, Westbrook and Williams give them incredible depth for the next year or two.
However, their relative weakness is their frontcourt (and I say "relative" as it is still pretty strong) with Nelson-Ododa and Griffin.
As BosCard pointed out, hopefully having Bueckers and Fudd locked in until the former graduates in 2024 will persuade other top guard prospects to look elsewhere as playing time may be limited at those two positions in Storrs for a while.
Right now, it looks like we are in the running for 4 of the top 7 prospects in the Class of '22 (Betts, Gardiner, Rice and Nnaji)? It would be a coup if we could land a couple of them to replace the graduating class of the Hulls and Brown after next season.
