I always wonder in situations like this about the academics. I know nothing about Fudd except she was named for Jennifer Azzi. Of course we know with Katie Lou and Pivec that it is possible to turn down Stanford academics for other reasons, but it is very rare. The first couple of articles I read about Fudd don't mention academics and it doesn't seem to pop up in her interviews much. Maybe not a priority?
I think Stanford recruits do well to think of Kate Starbird's example. Sure, being at the top of the WBB pecking order will get you professional work after college for as much as a decade. But then you are done with basketball and have half a century of life left to live. Your college program and coach get you ready for 10 years, and the academic degree for the next 50.
