The Niners will have no regrets trading Buckner for Kinlaw. He isn't quite as productive as Buckner was in his rookie season, but he has great upside as a more physical and bigger player. Kinlaw had his best game so far last week against the Saints, and everyone says he is going to be a dominant player as he gains experience. Buckner also costs about $8-$10M more per year depending on how you count. If the Niners season wasn't cruel enough already, both their # picks appear to be studs (along with Brandon Aiyuk), and are both now on the Covid list, with Kinlaw apparently actually having it.
As for Luck, if I'm John Lynch, I'm certainly going to call him as a Stanford grad and find out how his life is going and if he'd consider maybe possibly returning to the NFL. Luck's contract expires this season in terms of the Colts financial obligations, so I'm guessing he would be a Free Agent?
