teejers - I don't think our posts are incompatible. I agree that at Stanford it takes time to build a fan following. And perhaps the 13-3 was masking team weaknesses, but as you said, in other environments, the fans would have given the benefit of the doubt and come out to Maples. I'm not saying they're better, just that Dawkins comes from that kind of background and I wonder how he'll respond to the attentions of other basketball-centric programs.
