Disappointing, to be sure, given how well Hawkins is performing and how close he was to choosing Stanford.  But, there are still 10 months until signing day and stranger things have happened than a 17-year old having a change of heart.  If he chooses to go through the admissions process for Stanford, there could still be a shot (though the father has gone on record as saying they don't want to be flip-flopping).

We have limited scholarships to offer this year.  Time to move on to the task of landing another great player.
