TCU is going into the Big 12, but it is for sure a downgrade.

It has been interesting to see the trend of coaches downshifting.  I don't remember it happening all that often, but now it is common.  In the old days, you'd pretty much just get fired, do some TV, and then resurface.  Now guys seem to jump as soon as a firing seems possible.  Tubby Smith did it.  Herb Sendek.  Steve Alford.  Probably some others.  Now Trent..

One possible aspect to it:  I saw none other than Nick Robinson (who remained on Trent's staff when he left) got a D-1 job with Southern Utah.  Congrats Nick!  There is actually a decent Stanford coaching tree out there with Robinson joining Reveno, Russell Turner, and some of the Monty disciples.
