I have to respectfully disagree with you on Toilolo's hands (though maybe not his route running). I can recall a number of sideline grabs while being defended in which he pretty gracefully kept feet inbounds while making pretty difficult catches. I don't recall a lot of drops on his part over the course of the season. My impression is that he may never be the deep threat of a Fleener, but his is tall (obviously) with pretty reliable hands and better than average agility.Â
As an aside, everyone wants to compare Fleener to Gronkoski (fair enough, he's the flavor of the month); but personally he reminds me a bit more of the old 49ers TE Brent Jones: fair blocker, great hands, destroys defenses by going down the seam in zone coverage. Just happened to play at a time that moving the TE away from the lineman was not so common, but otherwise they seem really similar.Â
