What I said was that it would be unprecedented for a Stanford WCBB to transfer before graduating solely in search of more minutes, so the usual "transfers for playing time" card has not tended to apply around here.(12-15-2020, 12:14 AM)2006alum Wrote: I agree with you, jonnyss. And setting Prechtel aside for a moment: has there ever been a Stanford player who's transferred prior to graduation for playing time? We've had players graduate in three years (Moschkau); sit out, graduate, then grad-transfer (Thompson); convert a medical red-shirt year into a grad transfer due to perceived shortage of schollys (Carrington, Sniezek); transfer because the injury protocol wouldn't let them play (Carey); and even walk away from bball altogether (Johnson, Dodson--temporarilyish). But I can't think of a single player who has walked away from a free ride at Stanford because they are one of the first off the bench.
And BTW, speaking of the bench, Prechtel fouled at a pace of 1 foul per 2.5 minutes. Little wonder she didn't stay in the game long. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best one.
1. Hope you guys are right; but am concerned you do not appreciate the importance of hoops to these players' outlook on college generally; and

Prechtel was subbed in ~6 minutes into the game at 3:42 remaining in the first. She immediately fouled at 3:28, then committed a turnover at 3:11, then fouled again at 2:35. Two fouls in a little over a minute. Tara has LONG sat players once they have two fouls before the half, so not surprised the same rules apply to Prechtel as have applied to just about every player ever.
Then, in Q3, Prechtel was subbed in pretty quickly at 8:23, but she picked up her third foul at 6:01. Again, 3 fouls in the 3 quarters and 6 minutes of play total. Really easy to see why she didn't get much playing time.
And I just don't believe in starting totally baseless speculation. As the kids say, if you have receipts, please show them, otherwise I'd say her fouls explain her limited minutes against Cal. Vs. Washington, she played for 15 mins (w/ 1 foul) versus Brink who played for 9 mins (w/ 2).
