He obviously is a very good coach, but Alabama's unequaled recruiting classes and coaching budget, combined with its Mickey Mouse schedule. set it up for success.

Over the eleven recruiting classes from 2008 to 2018,
Alabama signed 209 four or five-star recruits.
LSU signed 153, Oklahoma 134, Clemson 111, and Oregon 104.
42 of Alabama's recruits were five stars--seven more than Oklahoma, Clemson and Oregon combined.
And, again, Alabama pays its assistants $8.84 million a year, against Michigan's $6.27 and Washington's $5.06.
