Stanford fans have become overly touchy about the Griffin/Luck competition. Personally I think it's stretching to read Griffin's fairly innocuous comments and see a deep character flaw. Seeing one may say more about us than him - Perhaps we'll always have a chip on our shoulder over RG3 after he beat out our guy for the Voldemort.
For me the bottom-line is Griffin is a competitor who excelled at the college level and has every reason to think he's darn good. I'm sure his future Washington teammates are quite glad he thinks he was pick 1B. He's not slighting Luck in his comments so why do Stanford fans expect him to publicly state that he was second best?
I'd like the ridiculous hype and expectations to ratchet down a little (well, a lot!) for both of these still 22 year olds.Â

In 1938 Neville Chamberlain declared "Peace in our time", Superman first appeared in Action Comics, Seabiscuit beat War Admiral ....... and C.a.l last won the Rose Bowl.
