With mixed emotions, I am linking this article.  I clearly recall reading it in 1992, when I used to subscribe to Sports Illustrated. It has remained burned in my memory.  I understand it may lead to suggestions that I leave politics out of this board.  But it is incredibly relevant today, and not just because Hank Aaron.  I have to ask  - more than 46 years after number 715, and 28 years after this article was written - has our nation really progressed?
