Hulk, what does "effective field goal percentage" mean?

I'll take a few more turnovers a game as the price of pushing the pace by a deep team.

Has anyone been watching the other top rated teams?  I caught a little of 2 of the top four, but I wasn't very impressed.  Maybe those games were like Stanford vs Colorado for their teams.

• eFG% - Effective Field Goal Percentage; the formula is (FG + 0.5 * 3P) / FGA. This statistic adjusts for the fact that a 3-point field goal is worth one more point than a 2-point field goal. For example, suppose Player A goes 4 for 10 with 2 threes, while Player B goes 5 for 10 with 0 threes. Each player would have 10 points from field goals, and thus would have the same effective field goal percentage (50%).

That is fascinating.

Is there any measure of efficiency which takes into account time left on the shot clock?  It seems to me that the "clutch" players are able to score when the clock is running out and the defense knows it is coming, while other players might only be able to shoot well when open earlier in the clock.

I don't think anyone tracks that.  It does remind me, however, that Kiana's effective field goal percentage would be higher but for the several times she has been forced to take a shot-clock beating buzzer.
