I think it would be a slightly more difficult regional semifinal matchup, a #3 seed as opposed to a #4 seed, but it depends on the school.
But if my memory serves me correctly, we almost always get a #2 seed rather than a #1 seed in the last ten years. Also, this year, it probably won't matter, since the tournament will probably be in the same place, but historically a top seed would send us closer to home rather than cross country to a more hostile location for a regional semis or finals.
But Creme points out, the Colorado loss looms large. It seems a bad loss counts more than the number of quality wins.
