What was I thinking?
The second half started out on a sour note with O'Connell on the bench for absolutely no good reason. There's no question that Oskar was less than 100%. Still, it was competitive...until it wasn't. I honestly don't know how the team could play so poorly down the stretch, but I guess it starts with a lack of "cohesion" as far as the line-up goes, especially in the backcourt.
Haase lost this team. I believe his indecision on line-ups contributed greatly to whatever turmoil there was behind the scenes. As a fan I was happy to see Davis out there again in a Stanford uniform, so there's that. He had one nice assist to O'Connell on a fast break. Other than that, a complete non-factor.
Does Haase deserve to be fired? I'll only say this, that there are often circumstances where a coach faces adversity that's not of his/her making. But it's always up to the coach how to respond to said adversity, and that's how I hope Haase is judged by the powers that be.
