That's what makes all college WVB fans have such high expectations for Stanford in the fall. When it comes to senior ace ranking Stanford is in a different universe than the rest of the PAC-12.

I know it's been an unpopular idea to express that his success at Stanford was based on inheriting a team that was already national championship caliber. I'm aware of his success at other programs, program building at Stanford can require a very different skillset. I was always going to reserve my judgement on how good a fit with Stanford he would be on how well he performs in a post Plummer/Gray/Hentz program. Hopefully he turns it around.
I can understand your reservations about Hambly. Even with the practice obstacles and the injuries this spring the players available to play seemed to underperform. Although I do feel WVB is distinctly different from WBB in that you can't constantly rearrange players and keep the team flow at a constant level on the court
IMO the issue was not Hambly. Maybe I'm overly optimistic. I expect to read stories in December about Stanford going from two wins in the spring to the Final Four in the fall.
