I remember that Romney's picture in the Froshbook was very cute. However, noticing the guy and the last name was as close as I got to meeting him freshman year. I vaguely remember wondering what had happened to him in subsequent years when he never showed up on the Axe Comm or fraternities or wherever it was that the beautiful people hung out. Found out much later that he'd gone on a mission and then transferred.

I'm not sure I was aware enough of the Mormon church to know about missions, never mind to know that Mitt was a Mormon. I do remember thinking that Mitt was an outlandish name. (I was a Midwesterner, frevvinsake.) Of course, then Young Boozer III showed up my junior year, and nothing was ever really outlandish after that.
