I am so happy, although as others have remarked this was old news. And as others have already said well, Wilson has the potential to greatly advance her offensive game. The big question to me is whether she will play point or not. Perhaps she will stay in her current position--adding more offense may be enough of an adjustment.
Wilson has always been potentially good offensively. In her sophomore year she was 7/8 from three point range against Ohio State. But the rest of the season she hit only 13 more treys, doomed by a sinking percentage and nagging injuries. And this season there were several times when she drove on the basket quite successfully--she did not do it often, but I don't remember many misses from in close.
So, the question is whether she can shoot treys and drive much more consistently than she has done up to now. She will certainly get the opportunity to do so.
I also think that everyone not named Jones or Brink is going to have to adjust to their development. Brink is so good that I wonder whether Tara would go back to the triangle to feed her the ball down low much more often. If so, then there may not be as much of a need for Wilson to pick up the scoring previously contributed by Williams.
Shaping the team is a fluid thing every year, and that is one of Tara's strengths, working and reworking with the talent she has at any given moment. Any way you look at it, this is a marvelous development and gives us a better chance of repeating than we otherwise would have.
