"Maybe." LOL
I remember the 2pm starts but at some point the starts were at 1:30, for years. Bobbbbbbbb, what was the first night game? Texas or Colorado perhaps. They did play a bunch of night games in the Coliseum in the 50's and 60's. Sometimes SC played on a Friday night, UCLA daytime Saturday and the Rams on Sunday.
Back in my day at Kezar there was a HS game on Thursday and Friday, CCSF on Friday night and the Niners on Sunday. Until 1952 USF and sometimes St. Mary's played their home games at Kezar. No wonder the grass disappeared between the 20's in October.
Hey, you could have played HS football in Seattle where the field was dirt, sand, and sawdust. In September it was hard as a rock. Then the rains came and it was mud. You would spend time after the game picking sawdust particles out of your arms. Then you would go home, put your uniform on the back fence and hose it down to get enough mud off it so it wouldn't clog up the washer.
Seattle isn't called the Emerald City for nothing.
