Found an Andy Staples (SI.com) article on a Tennessee game that Nunes and his family attended which may have swayed Nunes away. It was bad game for Tenn with booing that seemed directed at the Tenn QB, something which according to Staples pissed off Nunes' father. (This had come up in a muffled way in that string I mentioned on the U. Tenn. football blog.)

Anyway, about Nunes and Nottingham... there's the general awareness that Nottingham was 2nd string last year. But Nunes had accomplished the same thing moving up to 2nd string in the 2010 season after coming in with the class of '09. Then there was an injury issue that may have factored into Nottingham's opportunity, not sure how that went.
