My non-expert opinion is that way too many U.S. jury trials boil down to a beauty contest (metaphorically speaking), with jurors making decisions less on facts and more on what their gut tells them about the "character" of the person accused of wrongdoing.
I think Holmes walks free at the end of all this, despite the strong circumstancial evidence (hey, I watched a documentary on it, so I can judge...) that she did have direct knowledge that her company's claims were unrealistic and, yes, fraudulent.
