I've never been one to follow the depth charts, nor am I as active and knowledgeable a football fan as many of you.  However, as I look over this chart, I find it absolutely remarkable how few names I recognize.  Probably because I "checked out" during COVID, but the combination of the fact that it has been two years since I attended a game, plus the fact that I seldom paid attention to backups even then, make it such that I recognize fewer than half a dozen names.  West I remember from his disastrous play as a backup in one game, Booker I remember, Kelly I remember as a back that was streaky in his performances, and then some familiar names on the line.  That is it.  The fault could me my own, but it is hard for me to be filled with confidence.

For many, it may be that they have been injured for so long that we just haven't seen them play.

Another observation is there are no non-kicker freshmen in the two deep ? Primarily a good sign, but have we heard of any that have surprised and are pushing for significant playing time? Shaw seems to have in recent  years become more comfortable with playing freshmen, particularly with the 3 or 4 game redshirt rule.

Last year was his worst recruiting class by far, at least in terms of rating services. So maybe it is just a lack of talent.

Not to mention a staff lapse in recruiting. Oh, wait, Stanford recruits itself.
