I watch every play of every Stanford game.
I have season tickets and go to every home game.
I follow recruiting.
I read the CARDboard.
I listen to the Treecast.
I hang a Stanford flag in front of the house on Saturdays throughout the fall.
Why? Why do I continue thinking that I want to invest time and energy in watching Stanford football? I could echo all that's been said about coaching, play calls, delay of games, terrible defense, etc, but it's all been covered before. It isn't just one game, or even one season, it's the identify of the program at this point. Even when they've won games in recent years, the vast majority are painful to watch, and they do just barely, barely, barely enough to win anyway. I think I'm done. If this first game is an indication of how (another) season is going to go down, it will likely be my last. Some great memories with Luck, McCaffrey, and many others, but this hasn't been fun for quite a while now.
