We were, on the whole, not good yesterday. I am particularly concerned about our inability to run the football. It was the one match-up I thought we could exploit, and it was probably the weakest aspect of yesterday’s game.Absolutely. We were not good and we need to run the ball or we have no chance, no matter what plays we call. The team is built do be "balanced" with a bias towards the run game. If 50%+ of our offense doesn't work, the other 50%- simply won't be enough, period. In the past, Shaw has had to recognize we couldn't run and tried to rely on the pass. KJ actually made that look possible in a few instances, but mostly not. We didn't have the receivers for that and Arcega-Whiteside could only do so much. We have even less now. With no run game, what we saw yesterday will be the norm.

I think you'll all be surprised at how well Stanford does against USC.
I wish I had your rose-colored glasses. I'm just hoping Shaw isn't saying "What's your deal?" to Helton next Saturday. I think we are going to get run out of the building, early and often.
I don't think it's rose colored glasses. It's natural to overreact to Saturday's miserable game, but we were facing a very tough set of circumstances against an underrated team; this week presents a much more favorable situation against an overrated team.
Yeah, I don't remember exactly what the comments were after the 2015 Northwestern game, but somehow I have a feeling they were quite similar to the ones we are getting today.
