How is this whole Penn State transfer thing working? I have heard their players are free to transfer and play right away. I guess my questions are:
- Do the teams get an extra scholarship for each PSU player they sign? If so, what is to prevent the entire team from, say, signing with USC and creating a 150 scholie powerhouse
- If the teams don't get an extra scholie, how are they making room for these guys? Are they cutting other players? Are they having the PSU kids redshirt and reducing next year's recruiting class? And are they redshirting at Penn State or at the new school?  And if they have no redshirt year left, are they going to play Juco or D2 for a year while they await their open scholie at the new D1 destination?Â
I have to think the NCAA thought carefully about this stuff so as to not give any team an advantage, but I am having a hard time conceptualizing a truly "fair" system.Â
