I don't expect there to be any slowdown from moving the vaccination check to the entry gates.

The main backup comes from the bag check/metal detectors, and a second backup from the ticket scanners. There is ample time to check vaccination status while waiting in those lines.

Hope you are correct, but IMHO it will be a significant added delay. The ticket scanners don't add much delay at all. Almost none unless there is somebody with an "issue". If there is a way that they can control access to the COVID-19 screeening area, they can possibly match the speed of the metal detectors. To do that, they will need as many COVID points as they have metal detector points. I don't think there is room to do that. We shall see.

at gate 10 last week they were using only 6 of 12 metal detectors (no idea was the use rate was at other gates) so in theory they could double metal detector capacity with more people and have some number set aside for COVID screening (which seems like what they plan to do given they will have banners matching your wristband color for COVID proof "express lanes"
