I thought Matt Morrison was off his rocker in the roundtable when he said "Tarpley and Lancaster may not even start," as he assumed the higher rated recruits Skov and Vaughters would likely be first team. It's reasonable to suggest Lancaster won't start and Skov would, but anyone with eyes who watched Stanford play in 2011 knows A.J. Tarpley is a great Linebacker in the making. He played as a RS Frosh and was fantastic. He's only going to get better.
It is no surprise to hear the coach say Tarpley is at the top of the heap at ILB. The battle is going to be between Skov, Vaughters and Lancaster for the 2nd starting ILB spot, but they are all going to play a lot.
