on Tremayne, a USC fan with ties to Stanford's Hungarian football connection (the fan's father had been a Stanford team captain) had given me a heads up that he was not a normal PWO and he thought he'd end up starting for us. Tremayne was from a small school with a barely developed program. pretty prescient call. no other heads up since then.
while it has been encouraging to see the revival of the walkon program in numbers, it is bit disappointing to not see more development at positions other schools have with walkons as starters -- FB, TE, OL and non-kicking special teams. on the 1st and the latter, I am thinking Pat Ward types.
Bailey, who was high school teammates with current Cardinal long snapper Reed Miller at Santa Fe Christian High School in the San Diego area, committed to Stanford on the spot after special teams coordinator Pete Alamar offered him a full ride scholarship Tuesday. From a 247 sports article.
