Interesting (at least to me) how the P12 South teams on the schedule affect my attitude about the rest of the season and possible outcomes.

I would be a lot more excited about contending for the P12 North at this point in the season if we played Colorado and Arizona instead of Utah and ASU. But I think that Utah and ASU are both tough match-ups for Stanford which makes it a lot less likely that Stanford can get to 7-2 or 6-3 in conference games. My expectations are lower as a result. Still hoping to be surprised.

With CJ Verdell out the rest of the ways, the odds of winning the North have improved regardless of tonight’s outcome.
