Sarcasm aside, the article's new, helpful information can be distilled more-or-less to one sentence: Kevin Hogan is close to making the quarterback competition a three-way derby. Shaw:

"Kevin Hogan is doing a great job of making it a three-man race," Shaw said. "I wouldn't say that he's quite there yet. But he's not too far behind. He's making it more cloudy, which is good."

This makes me less confident about the QBs.
