I would say that a 2009-like season is a good goal under the circumstances. It may be achievable since our defense will be better even if our offense is not quite as good.
Luck's completion rate was highly deceptive--it was because Harbaugh had Luck throw many deep bombs to take advantage of defenses stacking the box against him. Luck's running ability substituted largely for the short and medium passing game. Nevertheless, Luck had a yards per attempt of 8.9, which topped the Pac-10, and was a truer indication of his ability.
Luck's freshman numbers stacked up against anyone's his first year. By anyone, I do mean anyone. It was pretty clear to me by the end of the year that he was a special quarterback.
Anyway, if we get a year equivalent to Luck 2009 from our quarterback, 10 wins would be an easy goal for us. with outside chances at BCS and even national championship. I don't expect anyone that good.
