This was a nice blowout win for sure, sort of a cleanser after yesterday, but I'm not sure we beat a top team today, not when NC State hammered them by even more a couple of days ago.
Best things to me were Jump and the threes falling well, FT percentage finally looking reasonable, Jones looking much more herself, and everyone available getting some minutes. I did not see the game, only saw stats so can't say much beyond that. Amazing what playing a poor defensive team can do for offensive confidence.
I take it the subs had some issues given the +/- stats and that folks here thought Van Gytenbeek and Hamilton did not do that great. Unfortunate, since at some point we are going to need subs to take over the pg spot.
As to ranking, I agree it doesn't matter much. I do fear that the Texas loss and now the USF loss, both games I really feel we should have won, will be a millstone on their necks when seeding time comes.
Overall, hey I am really happy they won big and got a cruise game where the bench could get some run.
As much as winning against current #2 Maryland and #4 Indiana provides a much-needed boost to the players' morale, I think that the Texas loss and the USF loss are what really catches their attention and provides a great teaching tool for Tara, whose focus is really more about teaching than winning as she has always professed.
