Were the baseline doors closed today? I noticed in yesterday's game that two of them were open when Stanford was in the second half. I would think the lighting/open doors would have greatly affected the shooters, especially from range. Even with UM's lazy defense, it was still nice to see those shots go in today.
Answer: yes, the big Conference Center doors were closed for the MD game. The day before those big doors were open wide. My friend, Steve, who was also at the game mentioned to me that he thought the extremes of light behind the basket might have effected our shooting. We were shooting very poorly in warm-ups as well. Whether the light was the cause or that we were just unfocused having played a tough game the day before, is pure conjecture, although quite plausible.
