I feel bad piling on Nunes after just 3 quarters of football, but this is not all that encouraging. Presumably, the ability to get the offense into the right play should result in things like a better 3rd down conversion rate.
This has always been my issue with choosing Nunes over Nottingham: lets say we win this game, but Nunes looks bad in the effort. Do you replace him? I think Shaw says: well, he's our QB and we committed to him, he'll review film and get better, yada yada yada. It is always difficult to replace a QB after a win. So we somehow win today and maybe next week, and it's not until USC that we have a disaster. What then? Put Nottingham in right before the team's first road game? Nottingham needs experience, these are the perfect games for him.Â
