I feel bad piling on Nunes after just 3 quarters of football, but this is not all that encouraging.  Presumably, the ability to get the offense into the right play should result in things like a better 3rd down conversion rate.

This has always been my issue with choosing Nunes over Nottingham:  lets say we win this game, but Nunes looks bad in the effort.  Do you replace him?  I think Shaw says: well, he's our QB and we committed to him, he'll review film and get better, yada yada yada.  It is always difficult to replace a QB after a win.  So we somehow win today and maybe next week, and it's not until USC that we have a disaster.  What then?  Put Nottingham in right before the team's first road game?  Nottingham needs experience, these are the perfect games for him.

Agree, but I actually think Shaw will look at film and if he decides Nunes can't make those short passes we have to make to keep our running game going, he will give another guy a chance.  If he thinks Nunes can correct it, he will get to stay in.

Relatively speaking, Nunes appears to be the one part of the team that performed as expected. Not spectacular but solid.

The defense, the lines, the secondary, coaching etc., on the other hand, were all well below expectations.

I think that has been mentioned, but with a new quarterback, it doesn't sound like a no-fault approach.

Probably, and most people around me commented that we're especially keeping things under wraps in advance of SC. It would be nice to see something different on first down, though.

That really scares me.  The way we played today, we are closer to Duke's level than SC's level.  We shouldn't be overlooking anybody.

That really scares me.  The way we played today, we are closer to Duke's level than SC's level.  We shouldn't be overlooking anybody.

If Danser and Wilkes aren't getting it done then Garnett should be given a chance. Nunes wasn't terrible but he certainly wasn't impressive. Shaw needs to stop the playing not to lose mentality. SMH
