Instead of testing with rapid antigen tests to see who is positive or negative, maybe they should flip a coin. The rapid antigen results could be only slightly better than a coin flip for those that would test positive by PCR. And, just to be sure, in case someone comes up heads positive,make a rule that you should try and try again until they come up tails negative. Then just let them play. That seems to be what some seem to want. (What you don't see in that graphic is that all who tested positive by rapid antigen were positive by PCR -- no false positives)
If 20 kids are in a class and all would test positive for COVID on Monday and each takes a (properly administered and evaluated) rapid antigen test every day and continue to come to class as long as their tests are all negative, about 9 will show up for class that day. 4 on Tuesday, (about) 2 on Wednesday, and (about) 1 on Thursday. By then, the teacher will have been well exposed. The same math works for a basketball team. (But, if those kids quarantine because they were exposed, they wouldn't have gone to school.)
Another way to put it, if a team gets N positive rapid antigen tests, there are probably close to N of the negative tests that would test positive on a PCR test. Quarantine due to prior close contact isn't just for healthy people that might develop the infection, it can also cover infected people whose test results were false negatives.
It is unfortunate that the Stanford MBB got infected. Hopefully, it will be mild for them. I hope they didn't spread it any further.

What makes you think the positives were from a rapid test and not pcr?
