I think the significance of the Lowell Cohn article isn't in the accuracy or inaccuracy of the details. The significance is the lynch mob mentality has made the leap from fan message boards to the mainstream media. Well, OK. Quasi mainstream. But it's made the leap...sort of like avian flu mutating to infect humans. But it's not the wishy-washy who's-on-the-hot-seat? kind of article. It's the first I've read that asserts the UC system's highest paid employee should go if things aren't fixed soon.Â
