I don't know whether Cohn is anti-Stanford, but I do remember fairly well an article, written just before the 2009 season, wondering why people assumed Harbaugh was a good coach. He speculated it might just be because he's crazy and people think crazy people are good as coaches, or something like that. I don't remember exactly. Anyway, I do remember that this particular article was forwarded around a lot and posted a lot on the internet, because, as incredible as it may seem now--and however much they'll deny it now--a lot of people thought Harbaugh was not a terribly good coach before 2010.
Point here isn't to criticize Cohn per se, but just to note the dangers to judging too hastily.
