This I totally agree with. If he leaves Michigan, willingly or otherwise, he isn't coming back. He will burn that bridge forever. If he leaves now to go to the NFL it at least can be viewed as a "promotion" rather than a defection. He had a great year in 2021. 2022 most probably will be a reversion to the mean, and while not chopped liver that isn't a B1G championship and a chance at the National Championship. That might be come a bit unpleasant. If he doesn't intend to finish his career at Michigan, leave now.

P.S.  I do agree that it's an optimal time to try NFL again, if that's what he wants to do, because his stock has never been higher.  And yes, it's going to be hard to return to CFP.  But so what?  It's hard for everyone.
