The Utah loss could portent a horrific weekend for Pac-12 football.
The only teams with slam dunk wins seem to be U.S.C., Oregon, California, Colorado and Washington State, with the last three playing FCS schools.
After that...
UCLA hosts Nebraska - Likely loss
Oregon State hosts Wisconsin - Likely loss
Washington at LSU - Almost guaranteed loss
ASU hosts Illinois - Possible loss
Arizona hosts Oklahoma State - Almost guaranteed loss
Stanford hosts Duke - Possible loss
Stanford has to beat Duke, not only to get David Shaw's mojo back, to put Stanford fans at ease, and demonstrate Stanford is at least in the same zip code of Oregon and U.S.C., but also for the Pac-12 to avoid being panned by the poll voters, pundits, and computers. This weekend the Pac-12 brand is at risk of taking a major hit. Utah may have gotten the snowball rolling.
That said, I'll still be rooting against U.S.C., Oregon, Washington, and UCLA, because I always do!
